What Pro is actually for
You buy Pro when other people start paying you.
Running ads for yourself, whether that is affiliate links or your own promotions, is what the free plugin does. Pro is the machinery for selling space to somebody else: a front-end portal where advertisers build their own campaigns, credit top-ups through billing you already run, a moderation queue before anything goes live, and the classifieds marketplace.
If nobody is paying you for placement yet, there is not much reason to upgrade, and it is better to say that here than to have you find out after.

What do I get without paying anything?
13 of the 26 capabilities on this site, which is the whole link cloaker and the whole ad manager: five ad types, every placement, AdSense rotation, server-side click tracking and country-level geo targeting. No licence key, no quota, no monthly fee.
Do the Pro tiers have different features?
No. All three include the same 13 Pro capabilities. The only difference is how many sites the licence covers, so you are never buying a feature back at a higher tier.
Is this a subscription I am stuck in?
Annual licenses include a year of updates and support and renew at 30% off. Lifetime licenses are a one-time payment and never expire. The plugin keeps working. Updates and support stop until you renew. The free plugin underneath is unaffected either way, so an expired licence does not take your ads offline.
Do I need WooCommerce to buy this?
No. WooCommerce or a supported membership plugin is only needed for the Pro features that take money from your advertisers, which are credit top-ups and paid classifieds posting. It has nothing to do with buying the licence.
Is there a cheaper way to just get link cloaking?
There is no cheaper way, because link cloaking is free. Branded links, the sponsored attribute and the redirect are all in the free plugin. Pro adds the conveniences around it rather than the cloaking itself.
