In this tutorial you will put each ad where readers will actually see it. You need WB Ad Manager, the free plugin. It takes about 5 minutes. Five steps. Choose Placements. Show an ad with a shortcode. Place ads in content and archives. Show a popup or sticky ad. Then add the Ad widget. An ad nobody sees earns nothing, and the wrong spot annoys readers. Pick the right place for each ad, and readers notice it without being bothered. Step one. Choose Placements. Open an ad. The Placements box lists every place it can appear. Header and Footer sit on every page. Before/After Content wraps your posts. Tick the places you want, and the ad appears there. Priority breaks a tie when two ads want the same slot. Step two. Show an ad with a shortcode. For any spot that is not a placement, Settings lists the shortcodes. Put the ad shortcode in a post or a page, with the ad id, and the ad shows exactly there. Step three. Place ads in content and archives. After Paragraph inserts the ad inside a post, after the paragraph you choose. Before Posts Archive and After Posts Archive put it on your blog and category pages. Step four. Show a popup or sticky ad. Sticky and Floating keeps an ad fixed on screen as readers scroll. Popup and Modal opens the ad in a box. It suits a launch offer, so use it with care. Step five. Add the Ad widget. In Widgets, each sidebar is a widget area, such as Right Sidebar. Click the Block Inserter and search for WB Ad Manager. Click it to add it to the sidebar, pick an ad in its settings, then click Update. Its ads then show in that sidebar. That is all five. choose Placements, then show an ad with a shortcode, then place ads in content and archives, then show a popup or sticky ad, then add the Ad widget. You can now do this job on your own site. Next in this series: Show the right kind of ad: text, network code or AdSense.
